My CD tour started a week and a half ago and so far my BEST BEST BEST night has been in my very beloved Chicago! I played Vision, a new place for me because I was usually playing Sound Bar. To be honest I was a little scared of playing Vision, because I knew that the DJ booth was upstairs in that club and I thought that if I am imprisoned in a DJ booth upstairs where no one sees me and where I can’t see anyone (just like at Avalon in Boston), it’s just a waste of performance for me, as I feel so stuck and miserable when I’m too far away from people. But they were smarter than that, and they put me on a stage, close to the people, and thank to that the gig was perfect. I played the best funky groovy old school tech-house / minimal and electro funk set I have played in a long time, and this is thanks to a great crowd and a great club set-up! Played a little over 3 hours, and the whole club was just going nuts and to be honest I was so impressed and so surprised at the same time, for how much the people were into what I was playing to them which is so different than whatever I have played to them in the past. They were there screaming and jumping and dancing till the end and I was the most happy artist and woman alive!! I had a blast! I wish I can go back there soon, it’s really always my favorite place to play in the US! I have a very special place for Chicago in my heart, for various reasons! I hope my next gigs on the North American tour will be as fun… here’s a challenge! 🙂
