I’m so happy to be back here! I loooooove this island! It’s only yesterday that I realized that I was born in an island (sicily) and moved to another island (montreal), so of course I have a weakness for islands!! Mallorca is full of nice memories for me, I used to spend at least one month in summer time over here 9-10 years ago for a few years in a row, since the parents of my very good friend and DJ Christian Smith have an apartment here, we used to spend so much time at the office (beach) every day, working very hard (on our tan)! So many parties, so many nice memories and so many sunrises we’ve watched from the balcony of his apartment, all that in between summer festivals and gigs.
I miss those times!
So I’m back here now, actually leaving tonight, I played yesterday at BCM, it had been ages since I didn’t play that club, I think last time was in 2002 or something like that! The night was absolutely unbelievable!!!
First, it all starts really well when promoters are super ultra nice. It helps!! They picked me up on time, they brought me to my magnificent hotel by the beach, we had a drink and then we had a nice Valentine’s dinner the 4 of us, with really good food, good wine and good talks!! It makes Valentine be more enjoyable that way, since I’m really not a fan of it…. Also, I feel like I made new friends, the guys were just so nice!!
The good news before dinner: the club is already sold out! I’m always happy to hear that so I know the promoters don’t lose money, and it makes me feel good so everyone is happy and that’s the basics for a good night!! After dinner, my usual nap, and then the club from 4 to 6 AM, completely packed!!! What a fun set I played! I was having really sooooo much fun!! And then the biggest surprise of the night… I turn around and who don’t I see?? Mister Tony Palmer, the living legend of this island! I was profoundly touched to see that he came out to say hi, at 5AM!! I’m not going to get into details and explain who he is for those who don’t know him, but for those who do, then you understand! I mean, for me yesterday was like being back in the beginning of our decade again…! The only ones missing were Coxy and Smith!
I really hope to be back here ASAP!! Hopefully this summer so I can some office work done! 😉
And can I just say one thing….. Some of you don’t know but I am a HUGE tennis fan!! HUGE!!! I’m sold to this sport. I’m a fan, I’m a freak of it!!
And coming back to this island is not only special because of the past memories, but now it is also because it’s where Rafael Nadal is from, and still lives. And it makes me feel even more special being here, knowing he is too! Ok, I have to specify one thing, my number one will always be Federer, no doubts, he is my beloved one, but I have of course a very great respect for Nadal. So the promoters told me that when I come back, they will use ALL the contacts they have in order to make me play with Nadal. I say playing because I don’t care for a photo with him and I don’t care for an autograph by him, I really don’t. My only dream is to play 20 minutes against him, so I can know what it is to feel a service ball passing me by at more than 200 KM/H!!! I would love it just to see if I would be capable of even winning one little point!!! Yeah, I know I’m daydreaming…. But I’m crossing my fingers anyway… Nadal here I come!! Ahahahaha!! Yeah right! 😉
Finally but not least, I would like to thank all of you who are supporting my new career (the singing career). All of you who bought my new single Dance Me To The End Of Love, and who are impatiently waiting for the next singles as well as the full length album. I am enjoying this new thing very much I must say, but I want to take this opportunity to also say that I am of course still enjoying DJing, and for those ones who asked me if I intend to stop, the answer is NO! I already said this before, and I repeat it. I am not going to drop it. Maybe if I will be busy touring LIVE, it’s just normal that during that time I will not be able to DJ so much, but in the end, from now on it only means that I will be doing both things. Maybe it will be a question of choosing quality over quantity, but we can’t complain about this can we? I have never enjoyed any type of bad or average gigs, those ones are not necessary and are never bringing the best performances out of any artist. So who wants anything else than amazing? I don’t! 🙂
